An RV can be part of your travel plans and a possible housing resource for someone else. We are exploring how owners could offer their RVs as affordable rentals in approved RV parks during agreed periods when they are not using them.
Travel, then share
Use your RV for vacations, then consider offering it for a clearly agreed rental period between trips. Rental income, after expenses, may help offset your monthly RV purchase payment while providing someone with a place to live. The amount available depends on bookings and costs. Plan owner travel around the rental agreement so residents know how long they can stay.
Own with community purpose
Explore buying an RV specifically to provide an affordable rental. Review purchase costs, depreciation, park rent, utilities, insurance, maintenance, management and vacancy before deciding. Rental income and investment returns are not guaranteed.

Before an RV becomes a community rental
Each proposed rental needs park approval for the RV, occupancy and owner-to-renter arrangement; confirmation of local rules; suitable insurance for the actual rental use; and any required lender approval. Agree in writing on the rental term, rent, utilities, deposits, repairs, maintenance, management and end-of-stay arrangements. Compare the total housing cost, including space rent and utilities, when assessing affordability.
